All, Well, the "Conference" was a success. We had a total of 48 people at La Casita for dinner Saturday night, and most were present at various times throughout the weekend at the Hospitality room at the hotel. Folks from out of town were able to enjoy good Arizona hospitality, and tour Old Bisbee, Tombstone, and Ft. Huachuca. The Duffers - Do you call a Duffy who golfs a Duffier Duffy or what??? Oh well, Steve and Barbara Hill, Gary and Peggy Baasch and Bill McGuire braved the rain, snow and sleet to complete 18 holes on Fort Huachuca on Saturday. They were able to get some sun Sunday and play the Turquoise Valley course before Steve and Barb headed for Las Vegas. According to Gary Baasch, he and Steve tied the course at 78, and Bill McGuire came in 3rd with a 99.....Not bad for a par 76 course. Peggy didn't say how she and Barb did, probably didn't want to embarrass Gary and Steve. Yes, we did have inclimate weather on Saturday, but that didn't slow anyone down. Jim Luster, Ken Jones, Steve Whitaker, Pete Giese, Stan Perdue, Bill French, Mike Kerr, Don Byers and Gary French maintained the Hospitality Suite and ensured the beer didn't go stale, while Mr. & Mrs. Elton Duffy, Mr. & Mrs Robert Hovey, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Hutchins, Dick Amick, Wayne Johnson, Duane Haneckow, and several others braved the elements to see all the sites around Sierra Vista..... Saturday afternoon, Jeri Chatterly introduced .................and ............ probably the youngest members of the group. We all went to La Casita for an excellent Mexican buffet. Thanks to a suggestion by Donna Campbell, everyone stood and introduced themselves. It was truly amazing to hear where everyone had been and that there were Duffys from 1956 through the 80's. After dinner, we repaired to the Hospitality suite, where the War Stories were slung with abandon. Our hats off to Sam Bassett, Jim Luster, Gary French, and Pete Giese. They kept us in stitches with all their "This Ain't No S***" stories. The DF Site closed down finally on Monday, with an exit breakfast attended by Bob and Siv Hovey, Walt and Claudia Hutchins, Dick Amick, Sam Bassett, Gary and Peggy Baasch, Steve Whitaker, Bill McGuire, Wayne Johnson, and Ken Jones. I would like to thank Jim Luster, Donna Campbell, Pete Giese, Leo Dickerson, Steve Whitaker, and Stan Perdue for helping make this a success. Looking forward to another one in 2010. Ken Jones All, I had a ball! Hope everyone else did, as well. I would like to thank everyone for their contributions and simply for being here with the economy the way it is. I would especially like to thank Ken Jones and Jim Luster for the tremendous efforts they put forth! See you all in 2010, Destin, FL! Stan Perdue

Wish I could have been there but alas my body is not keeping up with my wishes! I don't recognize any of the people but it brings a smile to my face knowing that they all spent a bunch of time with a key, headsets and a mill (MC88) (just like me). Keys and Mills are now just about as extinct as dinosaurs! :(. If you recognise Collins R390 Google 'em. They go for a ton of $ nowdays!. I always loved those things. Wish I would have gotten one of 'em when I could afford them! LOL. Best wishes all - If anyone recognizes my name drop me a e-mail. My NickName "Sam" or "Blackjack" Ketchum. Hung with Don Hornbuckle, Ogren, Beller, Brahe, Cannon (silent key) Flowers (silent key) and the famous 3D (Darwin D Dumas)! (silent key) Linkou and in Tainan. Not gonna send a picture cause no one would recognise me anyway! lol Been out for 49 years! Age is now 70 and counting.
